Ring A Bottle (RAB) – Shipping Policy

At Ring A Bottle (“RAB,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), we facilitate fast, reliable, and legally compliant deliveries through our technology platform. This Shipping Policy explains how orders are prepared, dispatched, delivered, confirmed, and handled across all supported categories, including groceries, alcohol, cannabis, parcels, cosmetics, and other vendor-supplied products.

RAB operates as a technology marketplace platform connecting users with independent vendors and independent delivery partners (shoppers). RAB does not physically ship or deliver items.

 

1. Delivery Service Areas

Delivery is available in select cities and regions across Canada and may vary based on:

  • Vendor location and operating hours;
  • Distance between pickup and drop-off;
  • Product type, including regulated or restricted items;
  • Shopper availability and operational conditions.

Availability is displayed in the app based on your selected location. Service areas may change without notice.

 

2. Delivery Methods

Orders placed through the Platform may be fulfilled using one of the following delivery options, where available:

  • On-Demand (ASAP): Typically delivered within 10–120 minutes, depending on preparation time, distance, and availability.
  • Scheduled Delivery: Customers may select a future delivery window, subject to vendor and shopper availability.
  • Same-Day Delivery: Available for eligible orders placed before the daily cut-off time displayed in the app.

Delivery times are estimates only and not guaranteed.

 

3. Delivery Timing and Delays

Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout and may change due to:

  • Vendor preparation or processing time;
  • Traffic, weather, or road conditions;
  • Shopper availability;
  • Verification requirements (including age or ID checks);
  • Regulatory or operational constraints.

If significant delays occur, users may be notified via the app, SMS, or other authorized communication channels.

 

4. Special Handling for Restricted Items

4.1 Alcohol and Cannabis

Alcohol and cannabis deliveries are subject to strict legal requirements:

  • Available only where legally permitted;
  • Recipient must be physically present at delivery.
  • Valid government-issued photo ID proving legal age (18+ or 19+, depending on province) is required;
  • No contactless or unattended drop-offs are permitted.
  • OTP (One-Time Password) verification is mandatory to complete delivery.

If legal requirements are not met, the delivery must be refused, and no refund or credit will be issued in accordance with Platform policies.

 

4.2 Parcels

Parcel deliveries must comply with Platform limits and applicable laws:

  • Size and weight limits apply and are set within the app.
  • Contents must be lawful and non-hazardous;
  • Illegal, restricted, dangerous, or flammable items are prohibited.

RAB reserves the right to refuse delivery of any parcel that violates these requirements.

 

5. Delivery Confirmation

Orders are confirmed upon delivery using one or more of the following methods:

  • OTP (One-Time Password): Required for certain orders and all restricted items;
  • Photo Proof of Delivery: For eligible non-restricted items, where permitted by the Platform and user consent.

Once delivery is confirmed:

  • The order is marked completed and final.
  • Refunds, cancellations, or modifications are not permitted, subject to applicable law.

 

6. Failed Delivery Attempts

A delivery may be marked as failed due to customer-related reasons, including:

  • Customer unavailability;
  • Incorrect or incomplete delivery address;
  • Failure to provide OTP;
  • Failure to present a valid ID for restricted items.

In such cases:

  • The Shopper may wait 5–10 minutes at the delivery location, where reasonable.
  • Re-delivery fees or additional service charges may apply.
  • No refund or credit will be issued where failure results from user-related issues.

 

7. Vendor Shipping Commitments

Vendors using the Platform agree to:

  • Prepare orders promptly based on the selected delivery type.
  • Package and label goods accurately and securely;
  • Maintain hygiene, safety, and compliance standards;
  • Communicate substitutions or item unavailability promptly;
  • Comply with all applicable municipal, provincial, and federal laws.

Failure to meet these commitments may result in penalties, payout adjustments, suspension, or delisting.

 

8. Fees and Charges

Delivery fees, service charges, and distance-based pricing:

  • They are displayed at checkout where practicable.
  • May be estimated and finalized later based on actual distance, time, routing, or operational factors;
  • May be adjusted before, during, or after delivery, in accordance with Platform policies and applicable law.

 

9. Legal and Regulatory Compliance

All deliveries facilitated through RAB comply with:

  • Canadian federal and provincial laws governing shipping and regulated items;
  • Consumer protection requirements;
  • Privacy and data protection regulations.

RAB reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or restrict delivery where legal compliance cannot be satisfied.

 

10. Policy Updates

RAB may update this Shipping Policy at any time. Changes will be communicated via the app or website with a revised effective date.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
